B25 carrillo
Not sure if its a problem or just coincidence. But I have seen at least 4 separate Carrillo B25 rods for sale second hand, that had all spun there shells and wrecked the crank pin. As I am thinking of buying one new is this a problem with the B25 rod? what shells do they use, original bsa or carrill...

wow is that still going! I think it might have grown out of the bike meet that stated at the ferryman pub in bablock hythe.
but I might be wrong. there used to be so many good bike nights in and around Oxford.

You will have to cut the barrel less if you bore the B44 barrel to take a B50 piston as the gudgeon pin hight different works in you favour.

Re: Another fake knee
I am suprised you haven't modified a latter Japanese knee to your requirements. Ive got a 2014 modle on my right, And i must say its fantastic i can run around and play football again. No not us football the real kind. I can even kneel down and screed floors again, which got me into needing a new on...
Re: Frame up
Managed to blag a try of this Tank while i was at Howard's. It looks fantastic and weighed nothing. so if anyone has a tank that would suit the project get in touch please. I have now got another swinging arm an original Cheney one, It is dimensionally identical to the one i have in the frame except...
Re: Frame up
Thanks for that Beat :) the project is coming together slowly. I just need the proper tank for it now and all the big bits will be there. i am considering getting a BSA bantam tank as to my eyes they look identical apart from the holes in the side to attach them. lol ;)

Re: bsa enduro/road cam
Hi ampshire, ive just had a look in my box of bits, The GP cam looks like an mx cam and the E marked cam looks just like a standard B25 cam, apart from the journal sizes as far as I can tell by the naked eye. Sorry i dont have an O cam to compare, my standard b25 isnt marked at all. but from memory ...

I am no expert but I took it I was a frame made for Jimmy Aird CCM rider?

Re: Frame up
Hi longstroke I would have gone down the aberg route, but finding a swinging arm has been impossible. and I like the look of the older bikes a bit more. Fortunately the inside of the frame is like new probably because the oil filler hasn't been cut out yet and it must have had a protective oil coati...
Re: Frame up
Thanks beat I will enjoy building it thats for sure. going to send it away again first though, The frame could do with being phosphated before powder coating. do you now what the frame oil filter and conecter is off ? and the steering stop rubbers are they the same as the oil in frame twins and t140...
Re: Frame up

Not really being picky mark as the B44GP was hard chromed, and if thats what hwan has on his barrel then thats what i want on mine lol.
The low wear rate he has is excellent.

Frame looks good in gold. did you use Reddich powder coat, I am guessing there close to you.
I have heard good things about them and am just about to dispatch my frame to them.
if you did use them can you recommend them?
cheers mark

Re: short
I will would love to have gone to a welded and offset ground crank like you have Tom, But I have had no luck getting any place to take on the work. most didnt even reply to my emails or ring back after a phone call. one place said maybe but were talking telephone numbers. so standard 70mm stroke it ...

Re: short
Well the idea is to fit a B50 cylinder and head to an other wise stock late B25 bottom end.(apart from the rod cam and main bearings) With a 89mm bore and the sifton cam I got from the usa thats meant for flat track racing the B25 motor. I have had the cases welded and retapped and opened up to take...
Re: short
Your a genius minty. and it wont be seen behind the lower fairing in anycase

Re: short
The must get countdown minty look at all the other crap we have flogged em over the years.
Off the tops going to be the easiest but the head might look a little odd hanging over the sides

ok so a bit of sage advice wanted. I have a B50 barrel on the bench that needs a new liner its cracked. so while its out I also need to shorten it to suit a stroke of 70mm. If you were going to take 20mm off a b50 barrel would you chop it all off the bottom, all off the top, or take ten from the top...

The build is looking great! can i just stick my 2 pennath in and say dont use felt on the roof of any kind, Fibreglass it, (have a look on you tube if you need to its very easy to do though) as a builder of almost 40 years i have made more money out of felt roof leaks than most other roof repairs an...

Can anyone confirm this is a CCM cam profile? it looks like the exhaust lobe is pretty wild.
would profile suit a 550 with a 3 speed gearbox.
thanks lads :)

B44 conrod who's broke one?
I was just wondering has anyone had the rod trouble so prevalent on the B50 with there B44's
I am especially keen to here form anyone using an over bored B44 to 500cc or has race tuned there B44, who has used it trouble free with the original BSA rod.

I have been wondering about casting my own in-situ, There are lots of different Polyurethane Rubbers compounds available for home casting. so you could tailor them to suit your application precisely.
