I tried the same thing and didn’t get a return then I removed the oil pressure regulator and got a bit of oil from there and just started it and all was fine

Has been posted here before but still got me watching until the end and I had the same experience before Xmas when I took my B50 to get a rego inspection the battery failed and hadn’t started it since last inspection so it put a frown on my face ha thanks mld 50

I would not be worried about this more worried about wearing the splines on the clutch where they slide when releasing.

You should change the smarties to the PES type that aren’t affected by oil while apart.

I have aTri-spark on by B50 that all fits in the points case and is a great ignition.

I think the one that I’m thinking of has a tube from the centre plug to the level of gear box oil and the complete plug is for drainage or could be primary case.

I do recognize that but memory from my rebuild more than 5 years ago something like gearbox oil level drain or primary side level drain. You should buy a spare parts book or look at the one on the site.

I’d be checking with PES Mark and Anita have quality parts and have improved the poor quality BSA Enginering (and cheep replacement supplies) well worth a little extra cash.

I did mine myself with lots of questions on this site with good results and I’m no expert. My B50 is reliable and goes well you can see my restoration details on the forum the B50 is a simple motor easy to work on just take your time and do the mods recommend here.

I do like riding my 1983 T5 Guzzi for a bike this old it’s got all I need still love to B50 but a bit of a chore to ride compared to the Guzzi
