Re: Victor Special petrol tank BSA sticker / decals

I am about to repaint my B50SS tank. Red with the black cross. I wanted waterslide decals for the gold BSA with wing. Looking at Classic Transfers it looks like vinyl is the only option. Any ideas? TritonMike

I definitely need two rear footrest rubbers for my B50SS. Square inner hole type How much?
Could you also quote for folding front footrest rubbers and kickstart rubber?

Re: B50SS Studs

Thanks to Nebrer, I now know why there is a reference to two spaces when putting B50 motor back in frame. 83-2005 had escaped my attention and my head steady seemed to be heading wildly left! Does anyone know the width of the lower one (83-2005) which has a 3/8" hole in it? Is it identical to width ...

Re: B50SS Studs

Thanks Midgie. Am getting footpeg bolt made up and was not in a position to go out and measure. My problem with the rear bolt is that if you try to withdraw it in situ (37/8" long) the hex clouts the clutch actuator long before the bolt is free from the mounting plate. And it will always have that p...

I somehow managed to use a 3/8" bolt (21-0671) for the rear engine mount. I have no idea how I got the bolt head past the clutch actuation lever? Any ideas as I know the engine was complete? Think I will replace with stud?

What length is the long stud for folding footrests on a B50SS?

Oil Leak-B50 SS

I have a top end oil leak. Have not actually seen it yet but described as quite serious when put on sidestand. May be coming from the decompressor. Anyone got any thoughts? Is it a compulsory engine out job?

PS found a new member last night and just gave him the web link. B50SS too.

In my ignorance do you perceive any problems using a WM3 rim? Could I still fit a 3.5 x18 rear tyre? Or would I have to go bigger?

B50SS Rear Rim

I note that the B50SS was blessed with a 18" xWM2 rim (Jones 37-3785) on the rear. Forgetting originality, if I was rebuilding what are the relative merits of a WM3 v a WM 2 on the rear? I guess slightly different spokes but why did the road model go for a slim rim?

OK now I need more information on the front brake of the B50SS. I am going for a Silk black rather than crinkle black. Just looked through the photos and 90% of the brake lever arms are silver with a black back plate. Is that correct?

Based in England. I have a rusty front wheel (B50SS). Would love to rebuild it with Stainless spokes & rim (maybe alternative). 18x40 hole WM2. Anyone got any of this they want to sell? Also need a front downpipe -the one C&D Autos supplied was definitely not right.

On closer inspection I had doubled up on the top of carb adjusters for the throttle cable. Thus the slide was never closing. I just replaced the rear tyre on my B50SS with (I think) a TT100 equivalent (3.5 x 18). The original tyre pressures surely do not apply to modern rubber? What do you reckon is best for front & rear? The front is also a 3.5X 18.

Yes it is an OIF model and declared as manufactured in 1971. Engine & frame numbers match. I am not certain how I can attach photos to the Tech page.
