Why not just get a H4 from Paul Goff. He has them with the BPF base and they fit into the original Lucas unit. I use them in Lucas and Miller units.

There were a few imported to the US. Back in the late 60s and 70s I worked part time at a dealer that sold all European motorcycle brands (including MV Agusta...I bought a 750 America from him, swapped it for a Brough and $2kUS cash...still have the 36 Brough) and setup several of the Purple B50SSs ...

Re: How to inspect a CCM 4 valve

I have a NOS 4-valve head marked 005. I bought it back in 1987 from Martin Horn in Illinois. He was the CCM importer for a couple of years and said it was one of the pre-production heads. He told me that the valves were from a mini Cooper. I also have an intake manifold, two valve covers (one with t...

Re: Top end oil feed mod question

I have done this since the late 1960s on Triumph dirt track twins and in the 70s on B50s. I use a Weatherhead brass fitting with a 1/16 inch (0.0625) restrictor The Triumph twins were plain bearing bottom ends and the B50 is roller. No problems. The oil pump on the B25s is able to push a lot of oil ...

Re: Fix for exhaust rattle

When I modified the exhaust on my B50 for a 1 3/4 exhaust pipe, I had a machinist mill and tap the exhaust port to fit a T120 Triumph screw-in exhaust flange. Now I do not have to worry about the exhaust port getting bigger or oval.

Re: B50 at Bonneville Salt Flats

For the topend oil feed I use a brass fitting screwed into the front of the inner timing cover where the oil pressure switch goes. It is a restrictor type with a 1/16" (.0625) hole. I then run a line up to the rockerbox oil manifold. This gets oil under pressure to the topend. I use this on str...

What about the late, 71 and up, B25 cases. I have a set of those and the area where the cylinder attaches is wide and long enough to take different stud holes to hold a B50 cylinder.

It looks like BSA used the same casting for both the B25 and B50.
