Paper elements are available from farmyard machinary suppliers.....must be used on some ancient tractor... Yup. Many years ago I just took my old B25 filter down to the local car accessory shop and asked them if they had one like it. When I told them it was from a bsa motorbike the manager there, a...

I notice everyone is happy to waste more profit in consumables like hacksaw blades or cutting disks, will the scrap yard not take them complete?

Re: Tires for B50SS
When you get down to trying to date a bike by what parts are fitted there is a slight complication to take into consideration. Take my B25 for example, the BSA owners club records show that it was made in 1971 and shipped off to Canada, but as it remained un-sold by the end of that year it got shipp...

You may want to take the springs out of the forks and make sure the front tyre does not hit the frame before you weld it up.

Re: Oil pressure while kick starting
When I prime my B25 with oil after a complete clean out I usually take the plug out and with the fuel and ignition off I push the bike down my garden drive way in 2nd gear, that gets the oil up through the return line filter and can be seen coming into the frame.

Re: b25 crank endfloat
I Read an article by Tony Jones of OTJ years ago and he used a small plate mounted over the crank end using the alternator mounting studs, he then had a bolt to screw in through the plate and close up to the crankshaft end, just enough to get a feeler gauge in, say 25 thou then lock up the bolt. Now...

Hi Beat this is one of my favourite threads so I hope you get this circuit cracked, it does look like a back emf issue to me as well. B25 blow by question
My B25 seems to have developed a smoking habit, it suddenly started to vent vapour/smoke out of the little vent pipe and any other exit in the engine it can find like the gear change or the points cover. Ok so it looks like blow-by the piston/rings is pressuring the crankcases so a new piston and re...

10 minute swill out with neat petrol in an outdoor location and you’re done. Block off all the exits, oil out feed, oil in pipe and vent pipe, stick a small bit off 8mm fuel line on each pipe with an 8mm bolt jammed and clipped on the end. Empty out by un screwing the frame filter and slunge into a ...

Oh yeah and that engine AJ CCM has posed a question about, interesting.
