Hi all
after nearly 50 years waiting in a corner....

Just going to check in the attic to see if BSA's are fitted to all houses....

so I do surch for a B 31 ore a B 34 fraim.
any condition, - it needs just to be "straight" ( not bend from a accident ) and cheap. :(

Congratulations Beat, you have found a treasure chest full of gold!

Finding a genuine GS BB/CB/DB34 frame will be difficult and costly but a B31 frame will fit nicely and will look almost identical to the real thing. However, being so close to a true GS frame the B31 item is also becoming increasingly challenging to find. You can modify an A7/10 frame to take the single cyl. engine by making a bend on the lower right front downtube. It's not too difficult, - I did it myself some years ago.
When you manage to find a frame to take your GS engine make sure it's from a 1956 model or earlier. Later models have the full width wheel hubs which doesn't look right with the GS engine. Off course it's a matter of taste I know.

Have your tried to contact: http://www.cornucopia-enterprises.de ? They are in Germany and seems to have a lot of early BSA stuff.

thank you for this tip, - yes, why not using a a10 fraim for this project :?: :?: :?:

the plan for this bike is to build a vintage sidecar motocross vehicle, one as I was using it 50 years ago.

so engine and fraim needs to be out of this periode, gearbox willbe from a norton commando, wheels and sidecar will be self made.

about the fraim: as long as the gold star engine is fitting in by the hight and allines by the plates, I guess the rest it will be doable.

so, - if someone knows ore do have a A7 or a A 10 fraim for sale, - please let me know......

I would love to try to help you Beat, but the last time I tried to help ship some parts to the UK I made an enemy- because UPS charged an arm and a leg to ship from here (NYS) to a port in Florida. Not only lost a friend, but also lost a few hundred dollars.

no, it is not worth to loose friends or money, - of cause not !

the situation of not finding a fraim around 500 $ now is making me thinking for a other solution.

ha, ha, --- the Idea of the all thing is from my B50, the french pointed me to the Norton guys to solve the problem of the wrong direction of the B50 ATU.
then, the Norton guys sent me over to the Triumph gents, ( Keith Gibbon ) wich could really telling me wich is the right part.

and tomorrow the mechanical part of this ignition system will be done... <216

yes, they are from the time around 1971/ 1975

the story behind is:
in 1970, Fritz EGLI, the producer of the EGLI fraimes was asking my father to accompany him to the motorbike show in Paris.
Fritz had a meeting with some Italian customer there but he wasn't speaking italian at all. So my father must translate the Schwiizertütsch in to Italian, wich wasn't a problem for him.
on this bike show there was a french guy, - I think hes name was Zerchot, maybe Xavier Zerchot, showing the first cast motorbike wheel.

Fritz EGLI wanted such wheels for he's custom bikes, but in a slightly different version.
back home, they asked me to make technical drawings of this what EGLI wanted to have.
shortly after, patterns where made and the first cast wheels in this type was made.
next step was to draw brake discs to casting them in Aluminium.
and everything new vent always straight in to our MX sidecar to testing this stuff.

right now, not much is left over but some goodies are going in use now on my project of this motoriced wheelchair.

NO, I did not miss the starter motor.

as I still feel to old to starting this engine, I have implemented the fallowing actions:
1. : fit a timing advancing unit with 40 degrees crank retarding.
2. : fit a carbi with a starter device such as chock and starter jet.
3. : making the decompressor working nicely
4. ( and most important ) : fit a sidecar on to the bike to carry a young strong chap with me ( my son ) to kickstart the engine as a price for having fun in the side whilst I must driving around in the green <1003

I have a good starting method called bang starting. Bring the piston up to compression decompress it bring it over top dead center then inject some starter fluid into cylinder create a spark and bang away the engine goes. :thumb
