Triumph Sprinter

Post by Keefe » Tue Dec 03, 2019 11:32 pm

A friend of mine has just rebuilt a Sprinter using a 1959 T120 engine with a Shorrocks super charger. As is hasn't run for nearly 40 years plus the fact that he had to have some work done on the super charger, I have suggested that he try running it on twin carbs initially. My reason for posting this is really to ask a question re the carburetors. Originally it would have had 2 Amal monoblocs. Unfortunately, I don't have 2 monoblocs, but to have a few concentrics, so was planning to use those.

Would the jetting be the same in the concentrics as they were for the monoblocs? Any help regarding this would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Keith

Main jets are typically reduced by 10% when moving from Mono to Concentric, that gets the mixture roughly the same. 25 on the pilot but the rest should either be the same or slightly weaker, the mains drop should take care down to 3/4 throttle so dropping the needle one slot should get you close.
