B44GP Style Megaphone

Post by Barkstar » Tue Oct 18, 2011 12:55 pm

Brituro have been making a version of these with a some baffling in for a reasonable price (£40 at the Stafford Show). Up to now these have been for a B50 dia pipe but they are now going to do some for the rest of us - good news if you're not a fan of using those sleeve thingys.
http://brituro.com/ The megas aren't listed but the man at the show said email or call and he'll sort you out.

I saw those at Stafford, not sure how much of a restriction the crimped up perforated tube in the middle would be?

Also that boss type mounting on the back might make for quite a "flappy" mounting when you have run a bit of steel strip back to it from the frame lug.

I can't see a picture but if its those short ones that are 2 opposing cones with a perforated tube baffel, then why didn't they make them the correct GP shape I wonder then they could offer an unbaffeled option for people wanting correct flow as original.

I have e-mailed them and asked them to comment. It would be good to get more suppliers posting,

I run a silencer(?) like that (though not from that manufacturer). Was originally a bit concerned about the flapping before I fitted it, but have had no issues whatsoever. My 1/8" steel strip seems ideal; stiff enough to hold things in place, but flexible enough to stop any fracturing due to vibes.
