crankshaft washer help

Post by FGF » Thu Sep 10, 2020 10:56 am

Hello ,

my B50SS has its crankshaft removed by my French machinist and we find a surplus washer !!!!!!!!!!

if it was this one , it would be a nightmare : ( W on inner race )
Vilo.jpg
can you give me some details about it ?

this washer have OD 31.8 mm ID 22.2 width 1.6
the OD is close to the inner race of the ball bearing but smaller than the inner race of the roller bearing . ( 31.8 <<< 38.7 )
there are no chamfer.
the wear mark don't seem to be the ball bearing contact mark.

So i 'd like to conclude that it 's not the crankshaft washer but i 'm not sure ...?
The gearbox mainshaft could be the owner of this washer but it 's OD on the 3rd gear is 23 mm , so the washer don't fit.

If it was the crankshaft washer the ID would be just over 19.05mm ie 3/4".

Sorry , it was a special shim the previous owner had fitted when he worked on the clutch .

new standard shims and the washer

he had a big alignment problem ( 1.6 mm ) with the primary chain i guess ... i 'll see that later.
nut slowly tightened , the crankshaft rotate freely with it's new bearings.

Now , oil pump , gearbox and ... clutch
