CCM moto x tank (alloy)

Post by budgie955 » Fri Jul 24, 2015 4:57 pm

Hi All
I have a CCM 1970's alloy tank which i am considering selling. It has a few dings in it but is complete with tap and cap and CCM logo. Whats it worth?

It's just gone on ebay but not sure you'll want to know the price.

Keith.

£395 for a dented old tank, that is a fiver short of what I paid for my B50 engine and £50 more than I paid for my a complete FS. Someone (maybe me) is out of touch with reality, well done budgie995 :thumb Think what it would have fetched if you had stamped John Banks on it

Wow!
I've got an 80% complete 441 motor that an old guy insisted I buy for $300 bucks so I did. He told me that it was a spare motor that was bought to Australia back in the day for J Banks to ride but he didn't show up. This guy shaped the barrel fins to fit his Velo and I have the rest. Don't know how much truth there is in it but from what I have seen the rocker and flywheel have both been lightened and polished and the cam looks a lot bigger than normal. I can get the engine casing no if anyone is interested.

Anyway a bit over bikes this week as I am nursing a badly bruised heel from the best kick back I have ever had on Sunday morning. So I rode the Ducati instead. Common Beat get that electric start thing happening/finished none of us are getting any younger.

Please all join in "John Banks knew my father, farther knew John Banks", to be sung to the tune of "Onward Christian Soldiers".

Forgive my cynicism, but for prosperity you have better put up the engine number, someone might have some more info that could put some flesh on the bones of various JB claims. Maybe, just maybe there is some truth in the story, and the apparent value of the engine to some deluded soul wearing rose tinted glasses might soar. Next we will hear that Barry Creary had a trial for the Wallabies (if he had they would be their best player  bring on 02OCT :laugh )
