ELECTRICAL BOX ANTI-VIBRATION PEDESTAL MOUNT

Is your bikes electrical box barely hanging onto the frame?
Mine was... ... but three of these mounts and it was as good as new!

Then this small highly versatile mount can be used as a fail-safe suspension mount by suspending a load from below and using a suitable washer and lock-nut above.

It can also be used as a conventional compression mount for loads between 5 and 10Kg per mount.

This mount is intended to be secured to the isolated equipment via the M8 thread and to a firm base via the 2 x 6mm holes (although this can be reversed if more convenient). (I used pop-rivets to attach them to the electric box top)

This mount is intended for use in compression. The mount can also be installed such that a suspended load acts to compress the mount.

Apologies! I could not re-arrange them into a more sensible order....

Hi aminto,
It is surprising how many rubber mounts are very similar. I suspect Dunlop (Metalastik) were the original source followed by Trelleborg, etc.
Do you have the supplier and part number of the mounts you found for those who might need them?
I've thrown the purposeless box away so have no need.
Thanks
Bill

An alternative to these nearly impossible to source rubber fused to metal mounts one can swap the electric box top with a later one from a B50. The mounting system is a bit different and the rubber buffers used for mounting are now available. One needs to replace the top plate and get the 2 top brackets and some shouldered bolts all of which are available. The box top plate and brackets can be found used. I have a few sets of these and no doubt there are many of these boxes in the corner piles of many B50 owners who dispensed with the electrical box concept all together.
