Is it me or is it this forum?

Post by Victor500T » Mon Apr 10, 2017 12:14 pm

I can't get anything to download except for the B25/B50 workshop manual (I wanted the parts books & supplements and the owners handbooks, for my B50, but I just got a blank screen with the usual PDF enlarge & reduce symbols at lower right of screen. Actually, the parts book did start to load (the blue line that creeps across the top of the screen), but before halfway, it froze. Never had this kind of issue with PDF files before, so wondering if there's something different about the way they are on this site?

Also, using the menu that's always on the left while on here, very, very few of the buttons actually do anything when clicked. Has loads of stuff been deleted or expired, or was it not there in the first place?

I;m NOT complaining here - it;s good to find any info for free and I'm glad to have found the forum. But if it isn't just something weird going on with my computer, then maybe it's something the forum moderators might be interested in?

I think it may be your OS, or firewall. I have just been through the links and they all work for me.

I'm using Chrome, so as fart as I can tell it should be OK? When I say the buttons don;t do anything I might have given a misleading impression - it is the "BSA B50 Links" buttons that don;t do anything (on my computer). I'd be interested to know whether they work for anyone else. All I get is 'Link not found' or other 'error' messages.

More frustrating is the 'Tech Tips' page. It opens OK when I click the button, but nothing on it is 'live' - there's no way (that I can find) of seeing or downloading any info! If there's a trick to gaining access to the tech tips, I'd be very pleased to know it, thanks.

Thanks - I think it was just me being typically thick! Now that I've look at your link, and scrutinised the page thoroughly in the belief that you wouldn't have posted a link that didn't work - and very nearly concluding that this is exactly what you must have done because it looked exactly the same as before - I noticed the whole column of heading to click on the left side of the page.

I guess they were there all along, while I was scanning the main part of the page for anything to click!

Me and computer stuff don't get on very well...

Very much so, I'm sorry to say!

Wish I could work out what PEBKAC means though...

NFN - Normal for Norfolk - used to be put on patients hospital notes and is derogative doctor's slang for a dim patient

Wow - how did you do that? I have a lot to learn computer-wise. Maybe I won't bother - just stick to bikes!
