B50 vs more modern stuff

Post by Peter Balfour » Sat Aug 22, 2009 4:02 am

Here are a few more videos taken last weekend at Mosport park. These were taken during our morning practice session, the old B50 did pretty well up against more modern stuff.

I'll do my best Rickard! Yes, I'm having a blast vintage racing my BSA its almost like being addicted to drugs :laugh . That little cheap camera I bought does a fantastic job for only costing $150.00 Canadian.

I bet there were a few coments like "What was that?" when you passed a few of the others.

I thought the guy with the green leathers was hanging out a bit. What was he riding?

John,

The green bike was a mid 80's K*wasak* GPZ 550. I could easily catch him in the corners but his bike was way faster on the straights which made for some interesting fun. It is surprising how well the B50 does against the modern stuff, mosport is a wide open ex-F1 track which is not suited well for the B50. On the tight tracks I can pass new Y*maha R6's, which really make the young guys mad  .

Hi Peter

Great videos.

Someone else on the racing line, hogging the apex? No problem; you just ride round the outside of 'em!

Love it!

Great video I have missed a lot! is Powell motorsports and John still teaching there? he had great courses in BMW and Formula V. Track seems done up well now, would love to thrash a bike there. Your bike looks great in the pack too though the Ducati leather are not good for BSA mojo LOL!.
