The primary chaincase must have been made deeper too, and the primary chain tensioner also was to have a rubber pad too.

Somebody should write a small history of P92 project here for the sake of future searches.

Somebody? Is that you Chobbler?

I would also love a story about Mead & Tomkinson

and Jeff Smith.

It's the start of a new game " Find the difference " between the B50 and P92 . The motor that came with these drawings had prototype changes to some parts like the primary case , clutch engagment , three spring clutch , primary gearing and 4th gear . BSA tried different crank breathing tricks by pluging the cam , push rod drain hole and timing side case vent . The motor I have doesn't have the rocker box changes , but has the 4th gear and case change , primary gearing and sprocket change , clutch engagment , primary case and crank case breathing changes . It's all NOS 1975 motor parts , never assembled and no engine numbers stamped .

I think the only reason for changing to a 3 spring clutch was to improve the performance of the cush drive by allowing for bigger shock absorber rubbers on the driven side as there just isn't the room available in the std clutch. The smaller return cush rubbers are listed as std B40 ones.

Also from the spec sheets the three ball clutch operating mechanisim they used is listed as a "B series" Triumph one.

The P92 motor that I have did get a hand made modification to the clutch engagment . If I can figure out how to post some pictures ( site says file to large ) I'll shoot some shots of the changes on the motor I have .
