Loss of compression on B44

Post by KiwiB44 »

Cruising along at 100kmph and the bike suddenly slowed to 80 and would not go any faster, I thought blocked main jet and carried on for 10km to a scheduled stop on the rally I was taking part in. I could not see any smoke from exhaust etc. The engine cut out when I slowed to turn off into the cafe.

When stopped it was obvious something major had occurred, bad oil leaks in various places and engine VERY hot. Plug looked normal and main jet was not blocked. I noticed during kickstarting it had virtually no compression, and it would not start, so onto the trailer of shame it went. 400km from home which was not particularly convenient

Today (a week later) I begin the strip down b44icon <218
