BSA B50/P92 Drawings

Post by CDB50MX »

B50 lads,
I'm going to have a complete set of prints reproduced to determine cost , then I'll keep you posted on availability , shipping and payment . What should be available are , full sets of every thing I have (77 prints) which include all major and minor motor parts ( no trans gears), spec sheets and a copy of the corespondence between B.E. Jones (chief designer norton triumph 1975) and Mr. R. Stange ( triumph motorcycles inc. USA ) on the concerns and punch list of the P92. Partial sets with what ever sheets you would like . Single sheet and poster quaility print . All these blue prints , not ink tracings, have been out of sun light exposer since 1975 and are in excellent condition , but were folded instead of rolled , so they have fold marks on them . These prints are of the P92 engine so some of the views are different than a B50 motor , but still very interesting .
I'll keep you informed on the progress,
Mike

It looks like the first reprint will be black image on white back round , full set . It would be nice to get some as display prints in exact color copy of the blue print , thats next . The printer said they should be ready by the first of next week , 5-8 to 5-9-06 .

The first set of reprints are on my desk and look fantastic , crisp and clear , with no fold marks . I went to a drafting supply company for printing instead of the chain store printer and got a better rate . The prints are now black print on white paper .
There are , in a full set : 20 spec . sheets , calling out , if the part is new to the P92 or exsisting stock .
32 prints of various engine parts , 10"x 15"
1 print of the exhaust vavle rocker , 13" x 18"
42 prints of major engine components , large prints sizes vary
3 prints of the correspondence between B.E. Jones (Norton Triumph Chief Designer ) and Mr. R. Stange (Triumph motorcycles USA ) on the P92 project .
The cost of a full set runs $148.50 US plus shipping . If you e-mail (PM) me for a set , I can let you know the full cost with shipping . I can except checks from outside the USA in US dollars only and there is a 10 day bank wait to clear . E-mail (PM) me for a request of partial sets or single prints and I will qoute you a price and description .
The printing of a CD will run $125 US for the first copy , after that just the price of the disc . If I get mulitple orders for the CD , the start up cost will come down .

Put me down for a cd as well please, and have you considered opening a paypal account, you’ll get paid in $ from any where in the world straight into your bank account.

To make a payment we just have to send payment to your registered Paypal email account. Also if it’s a relatively small amount I don’t mind adding on some $ to cover paypal fees.

Paypal fees are 3+% but I think you can get round that by asking the senders to pay using a cash balance instead of pulling the money from a credit card.

Put me down for a CD.

Wowee,

Best have a full set of drawings as well as a cd please.

Can't wait, sat here chatting with another B50 fan looking forward to browsing them on paper as well as on the screen.

Brill'.

Paul.

PS: Mead & Tomkinson still rule ! 95+mph round the IOM in 1975 was darn good for a Production Class machine. Mind you it did have Phil Gurner on board.

Now I just have to get the CD's made . Paypal , as you may know , charges 3 % + .30 US and 3% + 2.5% foreign exchange . Shipping which is available to me is Fedx , UPS and regular mail .

Right , lets see if we can get this show on the road . CD's are in and ready to ship , I have costs ( postage ,paypal , CD ) figured . First batch of prints are also ready to go out . I will start e-mailing paypal invoices to those who requested the CD and/or prints. Every one who ordered a set of prints , I have your address already . Final cost for the CD looks to be : Out side USA -$18.60 (CD , paypal fee & postage ) listed as a gift at a reduced value
USA -$ 17.00 (CD , paypal fee & postage )
This is 1st class US mail
Prints : outside USA -$ 192.27 ( 4# of prints , paypal fee & parcel post US mail ) listed as gift at a reduced value .
USA -$ 166.14 ( 4# of prints , paypal fee & parcel post US mail )
THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T SHOW AN E-MAIL ADDRESS ON THIS SITE , PLEASE E-MAIL IT TO ME FOR BILLING . It's very time consuming to track you down .
When I viewed the CD , I noticed the printer labeled it as " Triumph" , but is is the B50 drawings
Now , I'm off to prep the B50's for their next race .

Mike, The prints came today and they are excellent. Thank you for doing all of the leg work on this and being willing to share this rare find. I know how hard it can be to do something like this and you have gotten it done much faster than expected.

Thanks again,
Ed

Paul,
Got your e-mail now . There was no PM from you last week . I'll PM you to confirm your request .

I was asked the story behind these B50 drawings and how I got them . I have a friend who operates a vintage MX bike restoration shop in So.Cal. and he was offered two boxes of parts from the BSA comp shop in Duarte , California . He purchased the boxes , which had a complete unassembled B50 motor in one , and a finished P92 MX bike from the late 70's . The bike is now in the Primm MX museum in Las Vegas , Nevada . These boxes sat around for awhile until I was poking around in his stock of parts and found the motor . My friend , knowing that I'm into B50's , offered the two boxes to me , which I scooped up . I was like a kid at Christmas getting a fresh B50 motor and many spare parts along with a stack of drawings . The motor , which I haven't built yet , was a P92 prototype with many P92 changes to the B50 done by hand .
You can visit the Primm MX museum and my VMX club at www.svrg.com , click on the Primm logo to find that site

All,
CD's and prints go out the same day invoice is paid , glad those of you that received them enjoy the info . This is starting to snow ball , I got a call from an other B50 racer , who heard of me through the grapevine and wants me to rework his frame for racing .
The P92 MX bike is a five hour trip from me , but the next time I need a vacation in Vegas , I'll pop in to photo it .
