6" brake shoes wanted

Post by Victor500T »

I need a pair of brake shoes for a B50T / MX front wheel. I have the brake plate but no shoes. I would be happy to buy either a serviceable or new set or an old set that needs new linings. I am in UK. I am aware of the PES new shoes machined from solid but at over £100 inc VAT & postage I'd rather get some genuine ones for a lot less! I have heard that C15 shoes can be made to work but not sure if this is good information - is it? Thanks for any help with this.

You can't have a set of PES 6" BSA Brake shoes if you wanted them, they are out of stock!

The new batch has been sent for relining Ian.
Did you know we do an exchange service on your used shoes as long as they are not damaged?

Thanks Mark. I've been lucky enough to find someone via the Facebook group who modifies new Ferodo C15 shoes to fit the B50T / MX hub, for approx £40, so I should be sorted in this respect soon. I should say that I have no doubt that your shoes are beautifully made and better than those I'll be getting, but for what will be an occasional use road-only bike, I hope they'll be adequate. The B50T I had many years ago had a surprisingly good front brake - not sure what linings it had but I remember they were green.

Best of luck and I hope the C15 shoes have changed, the ones I've seen butchered are dangerous.

All that's done by way of modification is milling 4mm from the cam contact faces, so I can't see any reason why they should be dangerous.
